West Ham’s charge towards the Premier League safety line sees them look to continue a brilliant recent home record against Manchester United, whose purple patch shows no signs of slowing down. West Ham United have won each of their last three home league games against Manchester United, their best such run since the 1970s (four). Manchester United’s four defeats in the last six Premier League meetings at any venue (W1, D1) are more than they suffered in the prior 28 H2Hs (W19, D6, L3). West Ham United have lost just three of their last 15 midweek Premier League home games (W5, D7).

West Ham United recovered from their dramatic defeat to Chelsea by comfortably beating Burnley 2-0 on Saturday to move to within three points of safety. The improving Hammers have now won four of their last five matches across all competitions, but boss Nuno Espírito Santo is keen to transfer their positive energy to the London Stadium, where they’ve taken just six points from their last 16 Premier League games against non-promoted sides (W1, D3, L12). A winless return against sides starting this round in the top eight offers precious little hope (D2, L7), especially as all four of the home games therein ended in defeat by a 12-3 combined scoreline.

Manchester United’s perfect start under Michael Carrick (W4) continued with a routine 2-0 home win over Tottenham, while it also moved them to within three points of third-placed Aston Villa. Such a phenomenal run has seen calls for Carrick to stay in the Old Trafford dugout beyond the summer intensify, with the Red Devils hunting down their first set of five successive Premier League wins within the same season since January 2023 here. Just one defeat in their last nine away matches highlights why Manchester United carry favouritism here (W4, D4), even if they’re winless in their last five midweek league fixtures on the road (D1, L4).

West Ham United have won only one of the five home league matches they scored first in this term (D1, L3). Manchester United have led just three away league fixtures at half-time this season (HT: D5, L4). Eighteen of Manchester United’s 25 league games have seen both teams score.

Crysencio Summerville’s five goals in as many games have all arrived before half-time, though his only prior West Ham United strike was a second-half match opener in last season’s corresponding fixture (W 2-1). Manchester United’s Matheus Cunha has three goals in his last four away games, but he’s failed to score in all five Premier League appearances against West Ham.

Neither side appear to be suffering from any fresh injuries.
