Wolverhampton Wanderers’ decision to replace Gary O’Neil with Vítor Pereira before Christmas has reaped dividends as they’re unbeaten since (W2, D1), ending 2024 by drawing 2-2 at Tottenham. However, Pereira now faces another challenge with key forward Matheus Cunha suspended for this fixture for misconduct after last month’s 2-1 defeat to Ipswich.

Not out of relegation danger yet, there is plenty of work for the hosts to do as they finished the last matchday just one point ahead of 18th-placed Ipswich. The last four H2Hs at any venue were all drawn and Nottingham Forest have won just one of their last five visits to Molineux (D2, L2), suggesting this could be a tough outing for the Tricky Trees. But they head to Wolverhampton having won their last three league away fixtures, and will be hoping to extend that to a four-game away winning streak for the first time since March/April 1995, a season in which they eventually finished third.

Players to watch: Hwang Hee-Chan scored in both of Wolves’ last two fixtures and five of his last seven goals for the club arrived before half-time. Ex-Wolves man Morgan Gibbs-White could return to haunt his former employers after directly contributing to five goals across his last five appearances (G2, A3). Notably, all three of his goals this term came away from home and after half-time.
