Wolverhampton Wanderers will look to build on their midweek Carabao Cup win over West Ham, while Everton arrive in the West Midlands buoyed by a first Premier League victory at their new home against Brighton. Wolverhampton Wanderers have lost just once against Everton at any venue in the last eight league meetings (W5, D2), though half of the last eight H2Hs at Molineux ended level (WOL: W3, L1). Wolverhampton Wanderers have lost their last three home league games in August, conceding 4+ goals each time.

Wolverhampton Wanderers are back at Molineux but still under a cloud after suffering back-to-back league defeats without finding the net – a bruising 4–0 loss to Manchester City and a 1-0 defeat at Bournemouth. Their performance against West Ham on Tuesday offered a glimmer of hope, yet a winless record in their last 11 Premier League home matches in the month of August (D6, L5) doesn’t inspire much confidence that they can back up that victory here.

Everton travel with renewed belief after a 2-0 triumph over Brighton marked the perfect response to their opening-matchday defeat at Leeds. The arrival of teenager Tyler Dibling from Southampton for £35m has added to the feelgood factor at the club and pushed Everton’s summer spending total to around £100m. Boss David Moyes will now hope to see some return on that heavy investment, and with Everton winning five of their last ten away league matches (D2, L3), they appear reasonably well placed to do so here.

No side had had fewer shots than Wolverhampton Wanderers across the opening two Premier League rounds this season (15). Everton haven’t conceded more than once in any of their last 13 away league matches. David Moyes is unbeaten in his last seven games against Wolverhampton Wanderers as Everton boss (W2, D5).

Jørgen Strand Larsen remains linked with a move away from Wolverhampton Wanderers, and it is easy to see why with his two goals in two minutes earning his side their first win of the season on Tuesday, while he also finished last term with three goal contributions in two games (G1, A2). Jack Grealish (A2) could become the first Everton player to assist in his first two league starts since Bryan Oviedo between 2012 and 2013.

Wolverhampton Wanderers will be boosted by Toti Gomes’ return from suspension, while Everton will once again be without Jarrad Branthwaite.
