Top-four chasers Juventus will try to make the most of their Serie A home match against bottom-half opponents Genoa, whose fight against relegation might not be over. Juventus haven’t conceded in four H2Hs (W3, D1) and could equal their five-game clean-sheet run in Serie A against Genoa between 1964 and 1976. Genoa have lost more times against Juve than against any other side in the competition (70).

Juventus had a late penalty saved when they were held by Sassuolo (1-1) in their last Serie A match before the international break, which they spent sitting three points off the top four. With just eight rounds of fixtures remaining, the Bianconeri need to gain momentum quickly, as they have won only twice in the last seven league games (D3, L2). This could be the right occasion to add to that tally of wins though, as they have lost just once in the top flight this season against teams starting this weekend in the bottom half (W10, D4), with six of those victories arriving by at least a two-goal margin.

A 2-0 defeat against Udinese halted Genoa’s mini-run of two consecutive wins, and despite a positive sequence of results from mid-February onwards (W3, D1, L2), they enter this weekend with only a six-point cushion over the relegation places. Following their 2-0 victory over Verona in their last away encounter, the Grifone could register back-to-back Serie A wins on the road under the same manager for the first time since May 2021. That will be easier said than done though, as Genoa have lost five of their seven top-flight matches on their travels this season against teams starting this round in the top nine (D2), even if they have failed to score in just one of those games.

Juventus have scored 33 of their 52 league goals this season after half-time. Juventus have conceded a league-low one goal at home this term after the 75th minute. A joint pre-round league-high 24 of Genoa’s matches this season have produced over 1.5 goals. A joint pre-round league-high ten of Genoa’s 14 away matches this term saw both teams score.

Dušan Vlahović has scored three second-half goals in his last three H2Hs, which is the time of the game when seven of his last nine Juventus goals have arrived. The same is true for his Genoa counterpart Vitinha, who has scored seven of his last nine goals no earlier than the 59th minute.

Juventus seemingly have no absentees, while Genoa’s Brooke Norton-Cuffy suffered an injury over the international break.
