After comfortable wins in the last 16 of the Coppa Italia in December, Atalanta and Juventus face each other for a spot in the semi-finals. Recent H2Hs have nearly all been very even, with four of the last six being drawn. Juve’s only win in that time was in the Coppa Italia final two seasons ago, when they beat Atalanta 1-0. Atalanta have dropped 11 points from winning positions across Serie A and the UEFA Champions League this season.
Atalanta thrashed Genoa 4-0 in the previous round of the Coppa Italia, a victory which forms part of a run of eight wins in their last 12 games across league and cup domestically (D2, L2), bookended by a backs-to-the-wall 0-0 draw at in-form Como on Sunday despite going down to ten men very early on. La Dea’s improvement can largely be attributed to head coach Raffaele Palladino, who has overseen the team’s rise from 13th to seventh in Serie A following his appointment in November. They have been very strong at home during his tenure, winning seven of their nine matches there in all competitions (L2), with the last three victories all accompanied by a clean sheet.
Having lifted the Coppa Italia more times than anyone else (15), Juventus – who beat Udinese 2-0 in the last round – certainly have some pedigree to live up to in this competition, and the pressure will be on this season after a deeply disappointing quarter-final exit on penalties last term to Empoli, who are now in Serie B. Like Atalanta, the Old Lady have changed manager in 2025/26, with Luciano Spalletti taking the reins following Igor Tudor’s sacking in October. Spalletti, twice a Coppa Italia winner in the dugout with Roma, has duly revived the Bianconeri’s fortunes (W13, D5, L2), with his men having won four of their last six away games (D1, L1), including a convincing 4-1 victory over Parma in league action on Sunday.
Atalanta have not conceded a first-half goal in their last 11 games. Juventus have not conceded a first-half goal in their last seven matches. Just one of Juventus’ last seven games saw both teams score.
Atalanta’s Marten de Roon found the net in their last Coppa Italia game. His last nine goalscoring appearances all resulted in victory for Atalanta, with the last three all ending 4-0. Juventus centre-back Gleison Bremer unexpectedly netted twice at the weekend against Parma, which made it 17 games unbeaten for his club side on the day when scoring (W11, D6).
Neither side seem to have any fresh absentees.
