After a goalless draw at the beginning of March at the Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia in the first leg of this Coppa Italia semi-final, Inter Milan and Como still have everything to play for. Como have lost four of their five matches against Inter (D1) since their return to Serie A, including a highscoring 4-3 defeat a few days ago. Inter kept a clean sheet across the first four of those matches, with Como scoring in just two of the last ten H2Hs. Four of Inter’s last five matches saw both teams score.

Despite the goalless draw from the first leg kickstarting a four-game winless run for Inter (D3, L1), it all changed after the international break. The nine-time Coppa Italia winners have since won all three Serie A matches, scoring at least three times in each including a 3-0 victory over Cagliari last Friday, and now seem to be back to their imperious best. Inter eased into the last four of this competition by beating Venezia and Torino, but will be wary of taking anything for granted following their exit at this stage last term at the hands of rivals AC Milan, although back-to-back home victories in which they netted a combined eight goals should mean they come into this game in a confident mood.

Things have gone very differently for Como since the first leg, which at the time made up part of an impressive eight-match unbeaten run across all competitions (W5, D3). Form has dipped since, with a 2-1 defeat against Sassuolo last Friday marking their first back-to-back defeats since mid-December, and in turn stretching their winless run to three matches. Those recent results have seen them slip outside the Serie A top four, although it’s still been a season to remember for Cesc Fàbregas and his side, and could yet end with some silverware if they can win here. Como chances might be better than their odds suggest, as they have won seven of their last ten away competitive matches (D2, L1), including two in this competition.

Seven of Inter’s last nine home matches produced over 2.5 goals. Como have failed to score only once across their last ten away matches. Only one of Como’s last eight matches produced over 8.5 corners, including both H2Hs.

Inter’s Denzel Dumfries has contributed to three goals (G2, A1) in his last two appearances, including a brace against Como, while each of his last nine goalscoring matches for Inter produced over 2.5 goals. Lucas Da Cunha converted a late penalty in the last H2H, which was his first goalscoring match this term in which he wasn’t on the winning side (W4, L1).

It appears that neither side suffered any new injuries in their last league matches.
