A place in the final of the Coppa Italia is at stake for both Atalanta and Lazio, with this semi-final tie finely poised after a 2-2 draw in last month’s first leg. Atalanta are unbeaten in this season’s three H2Hs (W1, D2), and although Lazio have lost just one of their last six trips to Bergamo (W3, D2), they have never won away against La Dea in the Coppa Italia (D3, L3). Seven of Atalanta’s nine Coppa Italia goals this season arrived after half time.

After their European qualification hopes through their Serie A position were dealt a blow by a 1-1 draw against Roma at the weekend, Atalanta’s attention turns to ending a 63 year wait for Coppa Italia glory. Raffaele Palladino’s men have seen their form desert them at the worst possible time, as they’ve managed just two wins from their last ten games across all competitions (D4, L4). La Dea will hope a return to the cup inspires improvement as they’ve beaten Genoa and Juventus by a combined 7-0 scoreline to reach this stage, with both those wins coming on home turf.

Seven time Coppa Italia winners Lazio are bidding to reach their first final since last lifting the trophy in 2018/19 when they beat Atalanta in the final, and arrive with considerably more momentum having become the first side to win away at Napoli in Serie A all season on Saturday (2-0). Maurizio Sarri’s men are therefore chasing a first set of back-to-back away wins since May, and have been beaten on their travels just twice since the start of December (W5, D4). Maurizio Sarri’s men have already taken the scalp of both of last season’s finalists AC Milan and Bologna, but a failure to win the home leg of this tie places them as outsiders.

Atalanta have scored exactly once in each of their last three competitive home games. Lazio’s last five matches all featured under 2.5 goals. Only one of Lazio’s last six games was 0-0 at half-time.

Nikola Krstović was on target at the weekend and has been on the losing side in just one of his nine scoring appearances for Atalanta (W5, D3). Toma Bašić netted for just the fourth time for Lazio on Saturday, with all four strikes for the club coming in clean-sheet victories.

Atalanta don’t seem to have any fresh absentees, while Lazio’s Manuel Lazzari went off injured at the weekend.
