An intriguing mid-table clash sees Everton welcome Bournemouth to the Hill Dickinson Stadium with both sides protecting respective five-game unbeaten league runs. This is Bournemouth’s first trip to the Hill Dickinson, and they may feel confident of avoiding a losing league H2H double for the first time ever having won four of the last five meetings at any venue (L1). Each of the last four league H2Hs were goalless at half-time, with each of the last 11 goals in this fixture coming in the second half.
Everton extended their unbeaten run in the Premier League to five games with victory at Fulham over the weekend (W2, D3), leaving them with a three-point cushion in the top half and a six-point gap to the European places. Toffees boss David Moyes may expect that solid sequence to continue against one of his favourite Premier League opponents in Bournemouth (W5, D4, L1), although the task is perhaps complicated by Everton’s home form this season. Picking up the same amount of points across their last eight games at the Hill Dickinson Stadium (W2, D2, L4) as they did in their first four here (W2, D2), Everton’s new home is yet to achieve ‘fortress’ status.
Sitting three points behind their hosts in 11th are Bournemouth, who arrive here on the back of a similar five-game unbeaten league run (W3, D2), having come from a goal down to draw against Aston Villa over the weekend. Extending that run here is by no means guaranteed as Andoni Iraola’s men have won just one of their league matches against sides ending the weekend in the top nine (W1, D4, L7). There’s huge incentive to improve upon that here, as having won 2-0 at bottom-of-the-table Wolves in their latest away game, Bournemouth can now record consecutive away clean sheets for the first time since 2023 here.
A joint-league high 11 of Everton’s home league games this term saw at least one first-half goal. Everton have won both of their Tuesday-held Premier League games this season, including a 1-0 win in the reverse fixture. Bournemouth are winless in seven of their last eight midweek league fixtures (D3, L4). Bournemouth’s away league matches have averaged a league-high 2.08 first-half goals per game this season.
Thierno Barry has now scored three goals across his last five home appearances for Everton, though he has never netted in back-to-back home league games for the club. Bournemouth’s Rayan marked his first Premier League start with a first goal since his big money move in January, meaning the 19-year-old has now contributed to goals in both of his competitive appearances for the Cherries (G1, A1).
Neither side reported any fresh issues after the weekend action, but Everton remain without Jack Grealish while Bournemouth’s midfield is hampered by the continued absence of Marcus Tavernier.
