The new Premier League season is finally upon us, and in true David vs Goliath fashion, UEFA Europa League winners Tottenham Hotspur host newly-promoted Burnley on opening day. Spurs have dominated this match-up in the Premier League, winning 12 of 18 such H2Hs (D3, L3) and triumphing in 12 of the last 13 competitive meetings they’ve hosted. Tottenham Hotspur won their opening home league game by a 2+ goal margin in the last three seasons.

Even with promotion, Parker’s men have lost a trio of key players over the summer, but supplemented by no fewer than 13 summer arrivals, their squad is shaping up well as they look to win their opening game of a Premier League season for the first time since 2019/20 (L3 since).
