Juventus are the only team in Serie A yet to be beaten this season (W6, D9), but they enter the weekend some seven points off the pace of leaders Atalanta thanks to the huge number of draws. Their fans voiced their disappointment when the Bianconeri went 2-0 down to Bologna last week, but a spirited late comeback to rescue a 2-2 draw, combined with an impressive UEFA Champions League win over Manchester City (2-0), may well have changed the mood.

Boss Thiago Motta could go a long way to winning the supporters over if he can fix Juve’s home form, as they’ve won just three of their eight league games at the Allianz Stadium this season (D5). The visit of Venezia therefore arrives at the perfect time, as Juventus have never lost a H2H on their own turf (W12, D4).

Venezia arrive in Turin sitting at the foot of the Serie A table, although only an 88th minute VAR decision denied them victory over Como last weekend (D 2-2). Eusebio Di Francesco’s men at least stopped the rot by ending a four-match losing streak, but a significant challenge now awaits to win on the road in Serie A for the first time since promotion (D2, L6).

Venezia have started reasonably in recent away matches, trailing at half-time in only one of their last five such matches. It’s the measly five away goals they’ve scored that’s undermining their progress, with only fellow strugglers Lecce managing fewer on their travels, while Venezia failed to find the net in their last two such fixtures.

Players to watch: Dušan Vlahović opened the scoring against City in midweek, which marked the seventh of his last nine goals for Juventus to arrive after the break. On loan from the Bianconeri, Hans Nicolussi Caviglia was the man denied a late winner against Como, but he has still scored three goals across his last six matches, the last two of which came before half-time.
