Not long after riding the highs of wins at Old Trafford (2-1) and at home to Brighton (3-0), Fulham crashed back down to earth at the Molineux last time out, squandering an opportunity to draw alongside hosts Wolves and potentially harming their slim European hopes. The result meant their wait to secure three straight Premier League wins this season goes on, while away form continues to be a weakness.

Life hasn’t been so problematic at home, where Silva’s players earned eight of their ten league wins so far this season. Adding to that here against upcoming opponents Tottenham would represent somewhat of a scalp, especially as their Premier League home record as pre-match outsiders this season (W1, L4) suggests that surprise wins haven’t been particularly forthcoming.

Spurs have already lost once at Craven Cottage this season, by penalties during the second round of the EFL Cup, but you would have to go back to the 2009/10 campaign to find the last time they didn’t leave Craven Cottage with three Premier League points (W7). Tottenham made a clear and commanding statement of intent with a 4-0 thrashing of Aston Villa at the weekend to move closer to taking fourth place and returning to Champions League football.

A glutton’s delight of second-half goals in the West Midlands also equalled a club record of scoring in each of their first 27 league games of a top-flight season. That record streak was set back in 1950/51 when they won the league as a newly promoted club, and while winning the league this term is now wildly unrealistic, 11 successive scoring games against Fulham would at least hint they should be able to claim the club record outright here.

Players to watch: Rodrigo Muniz was on the scoresheet in each of Fulham’s last three Premier League home games, whilst Brennan Johnson increased Tottenham’s goal count in three of their last four league victories.

Hot stat: All but one of Tottenham’s last 18 Premier League matches produced over 2.5 total match strikes, with ten of those also exceeding the 3.5 goal mark.
