Chelsea seek to revive their faltering Premier League campaign when hosting Manchester City, who arrive needing a win to maintain pressure on leaders Arsenal. Manchester City haven’t lost a H2H since the 2021 Champions League final (W9, D3) and they’ve won on four of their last five visits to Stamford Bridge (D1). The start of a new month, as well as their 4-0 thrashing of Liverpool in the FA Cup, could give Pep Guardiola’s side a lift as they have won 28 of their last 31 league games played in April (D2, L1). João Pedro has scored 19 goals in all competitions for Chelsea this term, with five of the last seven of those arriving before half-time. Departing Manchester City captain Bernardo Silva, poised to break the record for Premier League appearances by a Portuguese player, has netted seven of his last eight club goals before half-time.

Enzo Fernández remains unavailable for Chelsea, while Reece James is doubtful. Rúben Dias, Joško Gvardiol and John Stones missed Manchester City’s win over Liverpool.
