A winless Lille bring the curtain down on matchday two by hosting a Monaco side who topped the table after round one. Lille have won their last three Ligue 1 home games against Monaco, and there hasn’t been a draw in this fixture on Lille soil since November 2006 (LIL: W9, L6). Lille were involved in the highest-scoring fixture of the opening Ligue 1 round as they were held to a 3-3 draw by Brest.

Lille boss Bruno Génésio has seen his side score 2+ goals in six of his seven personal career home H2Hs against Monaco (W5, L2). Eight of Monaco’s last ten away league games saw both teams score. Monaco have only conceded once before the 20th minute across their last nine away league games.

After opening the scoring last weekend, Olivier Giroud is one goal away from 350 professional goals, but he may have to wait for that landmark strike as 17 of his last 18 strikes in Ligue 1 arrived after the break. Maghnes Akliouche was on target for Monaco on opening weekend and it tends to be a positive omen when he scores as his side have won on his last nine scoring club appearances.

Edon Zhegrova heads up a lengthy list of Lille absentees, while Monaco duo Paul Pogba and Ansu Fati continue to get up to speed before making their long-awaited debuts.
