Three defeats in four Serie A matches (W1) mean that Como remain in the thick of a fight against relegation. Cesc Fábregas’ men sit just two points clear of the drop zone after a 2-0 defeat to Bologna marked their first failure to score since late December, while it was also a seventh defeat on the road in the league this term – only Venezia have suffered more.

Perhaps the comforts of home could help then, as not only have Como scored in six consecutive matches at Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia, they’ve also won three of their last five outings here (L2), including impressive victories over top-half sides Roma (2-0) and Udinese (4-1). Those are good omens as top-four chasing Juventus visit next, with Como only ever having won this fixture three times (D11, L14), with their last such victory coming way back in 1951/52.

Juventus picked themselves up after suffering back-to-back defeats – including their first Serie A loss of the season – with a stunning comeback against Empoli (4-1) that saw them score four goals after half-time. The Bianconeri are now chasing their first set of consecutive league wins since early November, and know another success here would, at least temporarily, lift them into the top-four.

While Juventus can take heart from their most recent away win coming in the Lombardy region against Monza, a return of one victory across their last nine away matches in all competitions makes for grim reading, with too many draws holding them back (D7, L1). Problems at both ends of the pitch exist in that run, with the Old Lady conceding in five successive Serie A road games for the first time since May 2022, whilst scoring more than once in only one of their last nine trips in any competition.

Players to watch: Nico Paz opened the scoring in Como’s last home match against Atalanta (L 1-2), but his other four goals for the club came after the break and saw them go on to avoid defeat (W3, D1). With his second-half brace against Empoli, Randal Kolo Muani became only the second player in the three-point-per-win era to score in his first two Serie A appearances for Juventus, following Carlos Tevez in 2013. Five of the Frenchman’s last six club goals arrived after the break.

Hot stat: Only Parma (15) have conceded more second-half goals at home than Como (14) in Serie A this season.
