Real Madrid vs Arsenal Full Match Highlights Replay Champions League.
European champions Real Madrid have it all to do after suffering a shock 3-0 defeat away to Arsenal in the first leg of this UEFA Champions League (UCL) quarter-final. They did at least get back to winning ways this past weekend with a 1-0 victory over Alavés – a first success in four competitive games (D1, L2) – but that game was overshadowed by Kylian Mbappé being sent off in the first half.

The attacker will be able to feature here, which is a boost as Real Madrid will need as much firepower as they can get to overturn the deficit. The La Liga giants have overturned a first-leg away defeat 25 times in UEFA competition, winning on the last three such occasions, but they must be fearing that run ending here having seen their last three UCL eliminations come at the hands of Premier League opponents.

Arsenal followed their special first-leg win in North London with a 1-1 draw against Brentford, in what was a disappointing result but one that still extended their undefeated competitive run to nine matches (W4, D5). It’s possible Mikel Arteta’s men had half an eye on this clash with a first UCL semi-final since 2009 in sight, and their record of six victories in their last eight games against La Liga opponents (D1, L1) should boost belief heading to the Bernabéu.

Arsenal did most of the hard work in this tie at the Emirates, and having prevailed from 18 of the 20 UEFA ties in which they have won a home first leg, they have a strong history of seeing the job through. The fact both exceptions came against La Liga sides (Valencia 2000/01 and Barcelona 2010/11) offers a note of caution, but neither came on the back of holding a dominant lead of three or more goals, and they did win here on their only visit in 2006 courtesy of a famous Thierry Henry goal.

Players to watch: Real Madrid’s Vinícius Júnior has been rampant at the Bernabéu in this competition, scoring six goals across his past five UCL home games, five of which came after half-time. Arsenal’s Leandro Trossard has netted after half-time in two of Arsenal’s last three UCL away matches, and he also scored in the Gunners’ most recent Premier League road trip at Everton.

Hot stat: Arsenal haven’t conceded more than once in any of their last nine UCL away games, conceding exactly once in eight of those.
