Following a week of mixed emotions, PSG will look to get back to winning ways against an Auxerre side who are coming off a morale-boosting victory. Their win in the last H2H was PSG’s fifth victory from the last seven competitive games between these two sides (D2). There were fewer than 1.5 first-half goals scored in four of PSG’s last five home games.

Monday evening was a peculiar night for PSG to say the least. At the same time that star forward Ousmane Dembélé and head coach Luis Enrique were winning accolades at the 2025 Ballon d’Or awards in addition to the team being crowned as the Men’s Club of the Year, their perfect start to the season was brought to an end with a 1-0 Le Classique defeat to Marseille. The Parisians will want to celebrate accordingly in front of their adoring Parc des Princes faithful who will be eagerly awaiting their first goal as it would mark PSG’s 36th consecutive Ligue 1 home game in which they found the net and set a new top-flight record for the club.

Auxerre got themselves back in the win column after three successive defeats, beating Toulouse 1-0 in the last round. That was their second victory of the campaign after they defeated Lorient by the same scoreline in the opening round, setting up AJA to potentially win three of their first six Ligue 1 games of a campaign for the first time since 2004/05 should they pull off a massive upset here. That would require them to end a three-game losing streak on the road in competition, beginning with their most recent visit to PSG (L 3-1).

PSG have collected a league-low two yellow cards this season. Auxerre scored exactly once in 12 of their last 14 matches. The half-time result has been replicated come full-time in four of Auxerre’s last five away games.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia netted a brace in this fixture last term, contributing to six of his seven club goals for PSG, outside of games played on neutral territory, coming at home. Danny Namaso was Auxerre’s hero against Toulouse, which continued his reputation as a game changer since three of his last four goals have served as the match opener.

PSG will continue without their Ballon d’Or winner Dembélé, who could be joined by Bradley Barcola, Désiré Doué and João Neves, who both missed out against Marseille, while Marquinhos is ruled out. Auxerre will welcome back Josué Casimir from suspension but remain without Oussama El Azzouzi for a couple more weeks.
