With their Serie A title hopes all but extinguished, Napoli will be looking to rediscover their winning touch against a Cremonese side currently just above the relegation zone. Napoli have won the last four league meetings between the sides, three of which were in Serie A. The last time that Cremonese tasted victory in a top-flight H2H was way back in September 1994, but they are yet to win away from home in this fixture across either Serie A or Serie B (D2, L10).

Napoli lost 2-0 to Lazio last Saturday, a result that effectively ended their hopes of retaining the Scudetto. Antonio Conte’s men now sit 12 points behind Inter Milan with only 15 points left to play for, meaning that their focus must pivot towards securing a second-placed finish. A swift response is expected at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, given that the Partenopei haven’t suffered back-to-back top-flight losses since December 2023, with that defeat to Lazio shattering their unbeaten home league record for the current campaign (W11, D4).

Cremonese’s battle to avoid an immediate return to Serie B hangs in the balance after a goalless draw against Torino last Sunday left them hovering above the relegation zone on head-to-head record. With just one win in their last 19 matches (D5, L13), the Grigiorossi have been sucked into a battle to stay up, although new head coach Marco Giampaolo has given them a glimmer of hope, having been responsible for that solitary victory (W1, D1, L2) since his arrival. He may travel to Naples with a hint of cautious optimism, yet a return of four points from six visits this season to teams currently in Serie A’s top seven (W1, D1, L4) will not fill Cremonese with confidence going into this fixture.

Napoli’s matches this season have produced a league-high 13 goals inside ten minutes. Napoli have won all nine home league matches in which they scored first this season. Cremonese have failed to score before half-time in a league-high 27 games this term. Seven of Cremonese’s last nine away defeats saw them fail to score.

Matteo Politano has scored five of his last six Serie A goals at home, including both strikes this season, which came in wins. Federico Bonazzoli could find the net late on here as six of his seven goals this term have come after the break, with four of those strikes after half-time being on the road.

Neither side seem to have any fresh absentees, but Youssef Maleh is expected to return for Cremonese after serving a two-game ban.
