Top-four hopefuls Juventus look for an immediate reaction after a surprising Serie A defeat last weekend when they host reigning champions Napoli, who enter this round four points above their opponents. Napoli may have won six of the previous nine H2Hs (D2, L1), but they’ve still managed just two victories across their last 14 Serie A trips to Juventus (D2, L10). Conte has never managed an away win against Juventus in the top-flight (D1, L2). Juventus are the only Serie A side yet to concede at home inside the opening 15 minutes of both halves.

Manager Luciano Spalletti oversaw just a second defeat since his appointment at Juventus when they were beaten 1-0 by Cagliari at the weekend, but the Old Lady reacted well by beating Benfica 2-0 in midweek UEFA Champions League (UCL) action. The Bianconeri start the round three points adrift of the Serie A top four, but as they were last beaten at home way back in March (W13, D6), they’ll fancy their chances of at least staying in touch, especially as they’ve won two of their previous three home league matches against current top-four sides (D1).

Napoli may be unbeaten in nine matches across all competitions (W5, D4), but four draws from their last five games have undermined both their domestic and European goals. A midweek 1-1 draw away at ten-man Copenhagen left the Partenopei outside of the play-off places in the UEFA Champions League, while they begin the weekend six points off the title pace despite a 1-0 victory over Sassuolo last weekend. A growing injury list is unlikely to help Antonio Conte’s side who have struggled on the road for some time, winning just four of their last 13 competitive away games (D2, L7), while they’ve already lost twice as many Serie A trips this term (4) than they did in the whole of last season (2).

Only eight of Juventus’ 21 league matches produced over 2.5 goals. Pre-round, only Inter (8) have scored more goals inside the opening 15 minutes than Napoli (6) this Serie A season. Only Inter (11) have led more Serie A games at half-time this term than Napoli (10).

Weston McKennie scored his third goal in five matches for Juventus in midweek, with each of his five strikes this term arriving after the break. After being named on the bench in Copenhagen, Romelu Lukaku could make his first appearance of this season here – 13 of his 14 goals for Napoli came in victories (D1).

Juventus seem to have no fresh injury concerns, while Napoli’s Amir Rrahmani and Matteo Politano missed the Copenhagen game that saw Leonardo Spinazzola come off injured.
