The Bundesliga returns from the first international window of the season with winless Heidenheim hoping to cause an upset against unbeaten Borussia Dortmund. Heidenheim have failed to win any of their four H2Hs with Dortmund (D2, L2), all of which came during Frank Schmidt’s tenure, and they conceded 2+ goals in three of those matches. Dortmund won only five of 15 Bundesliga games as away favourites since the start of 2024/25 (D3, L7).

Narrowly avoiding relegation from the Bundesliga last season thanks to their relegation play-off victory, Heidenheim supporters would have been hoping for their side to make a quick start to their 2025/26 campaign.
