Liverpool’s lengthy unbeaten run is on the line when they travel down to the south coast to face a Bournemouth side who will hope they’re starting to turn a corner in the Premier League. Bournemouth have lost 13 of the last 14 H2Hs (W1), with nine of those defeats coming to nil. Liverpool’s Premier League games have witnessed a pre-round league-high 43 second-half goals this season.

Bournemouth’s 2026 so far could’ve looked very different, as despite their win over Tottenham, they’ve lost to Arsenal and Newcastle alongside drawing against Brighton on Monday night, all after possessing the lead at some point in those games. While there are positives to be taken, the Cherries can’t evade the fact they’ve won just one of their last 13 Premier League games (D6, L6). Returning to the Vitality Stadium should help inspire a return to winning ways considering that Andoni Iraola’s men have lost just two of their last 12 home league matches (W6, D4), and Bournemouth will need all the positive omens they can get here given that they’ve lost ten of their last 11 Premier League games against the reigning champions (W1).

Liverpool swap the south coast of France for the south coast of England here after dispatching Marseille 3-0 in a clinical European performance in midweek. That extended the Reds’ unbeaten streak to 13 games in all competitions (W7, D6), but drawing each of their four Premier League matches in 2026 takes the shine off that record somewhat as they’ve missed a huge opportunity to solidify their pre-round top-four standing. Only two sides in top-flight history have ever begun a calendar year with five successive stalemates, while Liverpool themselves last drew five league games in a row back in November 1980.

Each of Bournemouth’s last eight matches saw both teams score. Bournemouth’s last six home games were either drawn or decided by a one-goal margin. Eight of Liverpool’s last 11 away games have featured over 2.5 goals.

Evanilson usually starts fast for Bournemouth, with three of his four goals this season arriving inside 25 minutes. Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah perhaps couldn’t have picked a better opponent for his league return having registered 14 goal contributions in 12 Premier League appearances against Bournemouth (G12, A2).

Bournemouth’s Marcus Tavernier limped off against Brighton, as did Amine Adli, while it remains to be seen whether Liverpool’s Ibrahima Konaté returns here after missing their midweek clash.
