Many will expect an absolute mismatch here as a rampant Bayern Munchen, who have scored nine times in two league games, welcome newly-promoted and scoreless Hamburg to the Allianz Arena. Bayern Munchen dominate the all-time Bundesliga H2H record (W65, D22, L19), with their 247 goals across those games representing the most a side has scored against any specific opponent in the competition. Bayern Munich have posted a league-high 20 shots on target across the opening two rounds.

Led by former Hamburg player Vincent Kompany, Bayern Munchen couldn’t have made a much stronger start to the league season as they won their opening two games for the fourth campaign in a row. After showcasing their firepower in a 6-0 rout of Leipzig in their home opener, Bayern Munchen have since added to their striking department with the deadline day signing of Nicolas Jackson. He’s in line to make his debut here as Bayern Munchen look to register a fourth straight home league win without conceding after scoring 11 unanswered goals here.

At the other end of the goal spectrum, Hamburg are one of only two sides yet to score in the Bundesliga this season, although they did enter the round outside of the bottom three with their singular point (D1, L1). Securing survival will be an uphill battle for Hamburg, who have a mammoth task to get anything from arguably the toughest fixture the Bundesliga has to offer. Their last relegation campaign saw Hamburg lose by 2+ goal margins while conceding 12 unanswered goals in their away games against the eventual top-four sides, so this match could be a potential yardstick of what lies ahead.

Bayern Munich have scored 3+ goals in 13 of their last 16 home league games. Ten of the last 11 goals scored in Hamburg’s competitive away games came after half-time. Hamburg have failed to win 15 of their 16 Bundesliga games in the primetime Saturday evening televised spot (W1, D6, L9).

Ahead of his first meeting with Hamburg, Harry Kane has already scored against all of the 19 Bundesliga sides he’s faced with Bayern Munchen – only Miroslav Klose has faced more sides with goals against every one (28). Having scored six of his last seven club goals away from home, Jean-Luc Dompé could be the man to break Hamburg’s top-flight drought.

Alphonso Davies and Jamal Musiala remain absent for Bayern Munich, while Hamburg will be without suspended right back Giorgi Gocholeishvili.
