A rampant Bayern Munich will be looking to continue their likely procession to the Bundesliga title when they host an Augsburg side battling to stay up. Bayern have won the last seven H2Hs, scoring at least three goals on all of those occasions. Bayern’s pre-round second-half Bundesliga goals total (42) is more than any other side has managed overall this season.
Going into this round of fixtures, Bayern have scored 71 Bundesliga goals this season – at least 33 more than any other team in the division! Their latest exhibition saw the reigning champions recover from a goal down and smash five second-half goals past RB Leipzig to win 5-1, which is already the second time in 2026 that they have scored at least that many in a single half of football. Vincent Kompany’s men are also unbeaten in league action so far this term, having last lost domestically last March against Bochum, while their 50 points from 18 games is a joint-best return in Bundesliga history.
Augsburg’s aims are much more modest, as they sit just three points and one place above the relegation play-off position ahead of this round of fixtures. Four wins in 18 Bundesliga games this season (D4, L10) hardly inspire confidence ahead of facing their Bavarian rivals, especially after having golden opportunities in their last two matches to add to that tally of victories, only to squander leads at home to Union Berlin and Freiburg. Watching Die Fuggerstädter away from the WWK Arena this term has largely been a painful experience, as they have picked up just four points in eight league encounters on the road in that time, losing the last four.
Bayern have only kept one clean sheet in their last six home league games. Augsburg have failed to take a single point when falling behind in the Bundesliga this season (L10). Six of Augsburg’s previous eight away games produced more than 2.5 total goals.
After finding the net against RB Leipzig, Aleksandar Pavlović has never been on the losing side in six senior goalscoring appearances for Bayern or Germany (W5, D1). Augsburg’s Elvis Rexhbecaj also scored last weekend, meaning that eight of his last nine goals for club or country have come before the hour mark.
Bayern seemingly have no fresh absentees following their 2-0 midweek UEFA Champions League win over Royale Union Saint-Gilloise. Augsburg’s Kristijan Jakić suffered a calf injury at half-time against Freiburg, while Noahkai Banks was booked later in that game, meaning that he is now suspended.
