Arsenal have likely already given up on their pursuit of the Premier League title, but Liverpool could be officially confirmed as champions should the Gunners lose to Crystal Palace here. Mikel Arteta’s men should be confident of delaying those celebrations based on their dominant recent home record, with only three of their last 36 home Premier League matches ending in defeat (W26, D7), although two of those were in London derbies (both vs West Ham).

The hosts produced a dominant display on Sunday to thrash ten-man Ipswich 4-0, a result which extended their unbeaten run across all competitions to 11 matches (W6, D5). That highlights the fine job manager Oliver Glasner has done at Selhurst Park, and he’ll now be aiming to lead his side to another successful showing against fellow capital opposition. Palace have won their last two away Premier League London derbies – not since between April 1995 and November 1997 have they won three in succession in the competition.

Players to watch: Arsenal’s in-form winger Gabriel Martinelli has scored five goals in his last five Premier League games against Crystal Palace, two of which came beyond the 90th minute in last season’s corresponding fixture (W 5-0). Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta has been involved in five goals in his last seven Premier League London derbies (G4, A1).

Hot streak: Arsenal are unbeaten in their last 42 home Premier League games when they’ve scored first (W36, D6).
