Arsenal finally resume their Premier League title chase, and face a stern challenge in the form of a Bournemouth side whose last league loss was in January’s reverse fixture. Arsenal won their first eight home H2Hs against Bournemouth before losing last season’s corresponding fixture. The Cherries’ two victories from the last three meetings anywhere (L1) are more than they managed in the previous 14 (W1, D2, L11). Arsenal have scored a league-high 11 home goals beyond the 75th minute this season.

Boss Mikel Arteta conceded that Arsenal had a “point to prove” after successive defeats saw them exit both domestic cup competitions, and a 1-0 win over Sporting CP in UEFA Champions League action on Tuesday went some way to repairing the damage. Their pursuit of a first Premier League title in 22 years resumes with the Gunners nine points clear while boasting an eight-game unbeaten run in the competition (W6, D2), winning each of the last four. They could secure a third set of five successive Premier League wins this term here – something they’ve only managed in two prior campaigns – and will be confident having won seven successive home matches across all competitions, keeping a clean sheet in five of the last six.

The division’s longest unbeaten run belongs to Bournemouth, whose 11-game stretch without a Premier League defeat (W4, D7) is their joint-longest ever. The Cherries still languish in the bottom half owing to five successive draws therein, but a result either way looks likely here given that no side has drawn six successive Premier League matches since November 2009! The omens aren’t promising on that front for Andoni Iraola’s men as they’ve managed just one league win against the current top-seven this season (D6, L5), while their last 14 competitive away matches have returned just two victories (D7, L5).

Arsenal are unbeaten against the current bottom 15 in the Premier League this campaign (W19, D5). Bournemouth have won just two of the seven away league matches they scored first in this term (D4, L1). Only one of Bournemouth’s last five away fixtures produced over 2.5 goals.

Arsenal’s Declan Rice boasts a career-high seven Premier League goal involvements against Bournemouth (G5, A2), all of which have come across his last eight such H2Hs. Eli Junior Kroupi was on target against Manchester United last time out, and his next strike would make him the first teenager to hit ten goals in his first Premier League campaign since 1999/00.

Arsenal will hope Bukayo Saka is fit to return here, but lost Martin Ødegaard and Leandro Trossard to injuries in midweek. Bournemouth have concerns over Tyler Adams and Lewis Cook.
